ilGoblin Competizione in June

SAB Heli Division has announced that the SAB ilGoblin Competizione 700 will be released in June. Two versions will be available: an electric kit and a nitro kit. The models are already listed, with the electric designated as the SG779 and the nitro version as the SG781.

The electric kit is designed for both 6S and 12S setups, and its airframe weight comes in just 10 grammes under 2 kg. Rotor dimensions remain firmly within the 700‑class envelope, with a 1,576 mm main rotor diameter when fitted with 700 mm blades. The battery bay, sized at 50×60×300 mm, provides ample room for either 6S or 12S battery configurations.

The nitro variant, designated SG781, immediately sets the tone. Its bare airframe weighs in at 2,340 grammes—no engine, no blades—underscoring SAB’s relentless pursuit of lightweight performance. With a main rotor diameter of 1,576 mm on 700 mm blades and compatibility with .90 to .105 class engines, it’s clear this machine isn’t merely a nitro adaptation; it’s a purpose‑built competition platform in its own right. A 650 ml tank, titanium hardware, a new PEEK rigid damper and the updated tail belt tension system all reinforce the impression that SAB has refined every corner of the design for precision and authority in the air.

Both versions follow SAB’s familiar philosophy: lightweight construction, clean mechanics and a focus on high‑end competition performance.

Pricing has already been confirmed. The electric kit will retail at $1,045, while the nitro version is set at $1,095.
